The Japanese satellite operator SKY Perfect JSAT has chosen the European launch provider Arianespace to launch a new satellite for the firm. Under a launch contract the 5,000kg satellite will be launched by an Ariane 5 into a geostationary transfere orbit in late 2015 from the Guiana Space Center launch site in Kourou, French Guiana.
Comment by David Todd: The satellite’s identity was not formally announced but it is thought to be JCSAT 14 which is being built by Space Systems/Loral.
