US Astronauts Rick Mastracchi and Steve Swanson make and extravehicular activity (spacewalk) on 23 April to swap out a failed back up MDM computer relay on the S-0 truss outside of the International Space Station’s modules. The back up MDM (mulitplexer-demuliplexer) relays computer commands to solar array joints, the robot arm and thermal systems. The spacewalk was comparatively short at just over one and a half hours long (starting at 1356 GMT and ending with repressurisation at 1532 GMT).
