The secret satellite mission codenamed NRO L-67 for the US National Reconnaissance Office has been launched from Cape Canaveral Florida, by an Atlas V 541 launch vehicle on its way to a Geosynchronous Earth Orbit (GEO) mission position. The launch took place at 1745 GMT on 10 April 2014. The Atlas V 541 launch was provided by ULA (United Launch Alliance) in the 541 configuration which uses the standard Atlas V core vehicle with a 5m diameter nose cone and with four strap on sold rocket boosters attached. The exact mission of the spacecraft is not known though Western analysts believe the craft to be used for Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) gathering.
