China has launched the latest version of its Tianlian data relay satellites which are broadly equivalent to NASA’s TDRS types. The Tianlian 2-01, which uses the DFH-4 bus design, was launched at 1551 GMT on 30 March 2019 from Xichang aboard a Long March 3B-G2. Before this flight China had launched four Tianlian 1 class satellites.
