China successfully launched a Long March 2D/2 (CZ-2D/2) from Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre, China at 0101 GMT on 29 October 2022. The vehicle was carrying Shiyan 20C – which means Experiment 20C – a mysterious Chinese satellite built by Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) Small Satellite Centre which is thought to be going to be used for space environmental monitoring. The the top part of the first stage appears to have fallen straight down, embedding itself into sandy track in Gansu province in North Western China. Image Source: 微博 (weibo.cn)
