Launching at 1814 GMT on 6 September a Chinese Long March 4C (CZ-4C) rocket has carried the Yaogan 33-03 satellite into a 700 km LEO. The mission lifted off from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, northwest China. Chinese state media describes the Yaogan 33 satellite series as having various scientific, land resources survey, crop yield estimation, and disaster prevention purposes however, it is believed by Western analysts these instead serve a military earth observation purpose.
