A Chinese CASIC-operated Kuaizhou-1A solid rocket launch vehicle was launched at 0235 GMT on 9 June 2023 from the Jiuquan launch site in Inner Mongolia. Aboard was the Longjiang-3 high-bandwidth communications test satellite. The satellite is built by the Harbin Institute of Technology and is said to be a test of a Chinese equivalent to the SpaceX Starlink design with its flat panel electronically-steered antennas.
