A Delta IVM+ 4,2 launch vehicle, operated by the United Launch Alliance (ULA) successfully put the navigation satellite GPS IIIF-6 into orbit from the Cape Canaveral launch base in Florida. The launch took place on 18 May at 0003 GMT. The spacecraft will eventually take up its position in the GPS constellation run by the US Air Force in a 20,400km ciruclar Medium Earth Orbit.
