Falcon 9 launches Starlink satellites Group 4-12 from Cape Canaveral…but seven maybe faulty

by | Mar 21, 2022 | Launches, Satellites, Seradata News, SpaceX

At 04.42 on 19 March a SpaceX Falcon 91.2FT Block 5 rocket launched from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida USA. It was carrying another set of  53 Starlink satellites – this one dubbed Group 4-12 to low Earth Orbit. The first stage B1051 (on its 12th flight) re-landed on the drone barge Just Read The Instructions which was located about 640 km northeast of the launch site in the Atlantic.  This was the 42 launch of Starlink satellites. Update on 1 April 2022: Seven of these satellites from the 19 March launch of 54 Starlink Group 4-12 satellites have apparently not begun to be raised to their operational orbit and are thus suspected of being faulty.  The seven satellites concerned are: Starlinks 3537, 3676, 3662, 3693, 3731, 3719 and 3710.
