Bulgarian small satellite maker Endurosat has joined forces with Kenya’s SayarLabs who will respectively build and operate a 3U cubesat-class spacecaft TAIFA-1. TAIFA-1, meaning “one nation” from Swahili, first Kenyan 3U software-defined NanoSat. TAIFA-1 will be flying to orbit on a SpaceX’s Falcon 9, with the planned launch scheduled for Q4 2022. The satellite will have a hyperspectral imaging capability.
In a separate development, during January Endurosat was commissioned to build a small cubesat to carry high energy particle detectors for the Latvian firm Mission Space. That satellite will act as a forerunner for a planned 24 satellite space weather monitoring constellation. The launch of the Mission Space Aurora-1 detector mission is due in Q4 2022.
