A contract was signed on 22 March 2018 between Pakistan’s Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) and China Great Wall Industry Corporation (CGWIC) for the joint-development and launch of the PakSat Multi-Mission-1 (PakSat-MM1) satellite. Both sides are contributing 50% of the contract value. To hold the 38.2E location in geostationary orbit where the satellite will be eventually placed, ASIASAT 4 has been leased by SUPARCO subsidiary Paksat International and called PAKSAT MMI.
Late News: PAKSAT-MM1 is ordered from CGWIC as Asiasat 4 is leased to hold its slot
