Two Pakistan-owned satellites have been launched from the Jiuquan launch site by a Long March 2C-SMA rocket at 0356 GMT on 9 July 2018.
The 1,200 kg PRSS-1 satellite was built by Chinese Academy of Space Technology (CAST) and will be used for natural disaster monitoring, agricultural research, urban construction and imagery of the region.
The 285 kg PakTes-1a satellite was built by Pakistan and is a combination imaging and engineering training satellite with the optical payload being supplied by South Africa.
