A cat who was a mascot at the Kourou aerodrome in French Guiana had obviously decided to check out the local Ariane launch pads from the air after he was found in mid-air to have stowed away in the wing of a micro-light aircraft. In film footage of the flight, the flying cat looks a bit perplexed as a “scaredy-cat” in the airflow but thankfully he survived the trip (though might have lost one one his nine lives in doing it). On a sadder note: On the subject of cats, your correspondent has had to say a sad goodbye to his wife’s little cat, Pookey (Thelma). As our clients often heard, she was often keen to join in Seradata’s business by miaowing through several of our business and conference calls. She departed the planet at the grand old age of nearly 18 to join her departed sister Loulou (Louise), and her former housemate cat Lucky, in their happy hunting ground in the sky. God bless them all wherever they are.
