Progress MS-23 undocks from ISS and its re-entry is imaged by astronauts
The Roscosmos-operated Progress MS-23 cargo ship undocked from the International Space Station’s (ISS) Poisk module at 0755 GMT on 29 November. It made its deorbit burn at 1102 GMT and re-entered to burn up over the Pacific east of New Zealand at about 1145 GMT, with the ISS astronaut’s trash aboard. All times via Jonathan McDowell. It’s fiery re-entry was imaged by astronauts aboard the ISS. Earlier in the month, at ISS orbit correction was performed via Progess ms-24, a sister ship of Progress MS-23. Progress MS-24 engine firing at 1507 GMT on 10 November 2023. This move was to avoid the predicted track of an orbital debris fragment. The engines of Progrsss MS-24 fired for 316.5 sec, increasing the station’s orbit altitude for 900 m.
