Continuing a string of purchases, newspace launch provider Rocket Lab is set to acquire Planetary Systems Corporation (PSC). Rocket Lab, which is based in the USA, announced the agreement to purchase Maryland-based PSC on 15 November. PSC is a designer and manufacturer of spacecraft separation systems, which have reportedly been used over 100 missions.
The deal is valued at US$42 million in cash, plus 1.72 million shares of Rocket Lab stock. It is expected to close before the end of the year.
This most recent acquisition follows-on from that of Advanced Solutions Inc (ASI) in October. That purchase saw the Colorado-based developer of satellite software bought for US$40 million.
