The Russians successfully launched a Soyuz 2-1A/Fregat vehicle from Plesetsk Cosmodrome, Russia, at 1248 GMT on the 22 March 2022. The launch vehicle was carrying the Meridian M10 satellite which will be used to provide communications over the northern latitudes from its highly inclined Molniya-style elliptical orbit. The spacecraft is thought to be replacement for Meridian 4 which failed in orbit earlier this year.
