A Russian cargo freighter was successfully launched on a Soyuz 2.1a launch vehicle from Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan at 0932 GMT on 3 June. The freighter, called Progress MS-20, was put on a fast-track, two-orbit rendezvous path with the International Space Station (ISS) before docking to deliver supplies including fuel and food. According to reports by NASA Space Flight, Progress MS-20 also carried four CubeSats developed by students at Russian universities: the Tsiolkovsky-Ryazan No. 1-2 and the YuZGU-55 No. 11-12.
Soyuz 2.1a was controversially branded with “Donbas,” a region in eastern Ukraine currently under attack by the Russian military.
