South Korean manufacturer Satrec Initiative (SI) intends to build a high-resolution Earth Observation (EO) satellite capable of 30 cm imagery. The announcement made on 18 August outlines its plans for the SPACEEYE-T project. The company intends this satellite to be a forerunner to a potential high-resolution, EO constellation. It will also hopefully showcase its capabilities to potential customers, both national and international.
The company intend to launch the satellite in Q1 2024, for this it plans to seek a launch contract during 2023.
