The Soyuz MS-01 spacecraft undocked from the Rassvet module of the International Space Station (ISS) at 0035 GMT on 30 October 2016 carrying Russian astronaut Anatoly Ivanishin, US astronaut Kate Rubins and Japanese astronaut Takuya Onishi.
The spacecraft made a deorbit burn lasting four minutes 38 seconds to take the forward velocity component of the spacecraft below orbital velocity. After a 22 minute break, the Soyuz MS-01 spacecraft split into its three modules: the crew capsule, the service module and the orbital module with only the crew capsule equipped to survive the re-entry which began at circa 0336 GMT.
The caspsule with all three astronauts aboard successfully made its parachute and rocket arrested landing at 0358 GMT on 30 October near the town of Zhezkazgan, Kazakhstan.
