The Soyuz TMA-012M /ISS-38S manned spacecraft docked with the International Space Station’s Poisk module at 1153 GMT on 28 March 2014, three days after its launch on 25 March. The spacecraft’s original “four orbit” approach plan had to be cancelled after its planned third engine burn was automatically cancelled after the system detected an attitude fault. The spacecraft was still in operational condition however and a slower standard method of approach was used instead. Aboard the craft were Russian cosmonauts Alexander Skvortsov and Oleg Artemyev along with NASA astronaut Steve Swanson. The hatches between the Soyuz spacecraft and the International Space Station officially opened at 0035 GMT on 29 March 2014.
