SpaceX successfully launched a Falcon 9v1.2FT Block 5 rocket from Cape Canaveral, Florida, USA at 0401 GMT on 28 July 2023. The vehicle was carrying Starlink Group 6-7, a total of 22 v2 Mini Starlink satellites for the second generation constellation. The B1062 reusable first stage, on its sixth flight, landed on the drone barge A Shortfall of Gravitas located down range in the Atlantic.
Meantime, the Falcon 9’s Falcon Heavy stable mate, which should have flown before this Falcon 9 flight along with its very heavy Jupiter 3/EchoStar 24 communications satellite payload, had its launch delayed for a third time. The Falcon Heavy launch has been delayed by various technical issues and bad weather.
