UK-based Surrey Satellite Technology Limited (SSTL) has joined forces with In-Space Missions Ltd to design a concept for three small satellites, which would carry hosted technology tests and other payloads on request. SSTL has built and operated a UK space agency-funded hosted payload satellite before called TechDemoSat 1. Spaces on the Faraday spacecraft would be commercially offered. The payload sizes range from 50 kg down to circuit board slots. The Faraday spacecraft has already booked two 25 kg hosted payloads of undisclosed origin. The first Faraday-class spacecraft carrying technical demonstration hosted payloads is set to fly in early 2019.
