On 2 February 2023, after the Quest airlock was depressurised, NASA astronaut Nicole Mann and JAXA astronaut Koichi Wakata opened the hatch at 1245 GMT, 30 minutes ahead of schedule. Their mission objective was to complete the construction of a mounting platform on the 1A power channel and to relocate and install an articulating portable foot restraint from the P6 truss. This was in preparation for the later installation of two additional iROSAs (International Space Station Roll-Out Solar Arrays). Four iROSAs have been installed so far.
The EVA concluded at 1926 GMT after 6 hours and 41 minutes. This was both astronauts second spacewalk.
